Visited Tices Meadow this morning near Badshot Lea. The are is an ex gravel quarry, with a large area of open water for wading birds etc. http://www.ticesmeadow.org/
Unfortunately, it was a grey morning, with a bitterly cold breeze and nor surprisingly few birds were wanting to show themselves. So it was a brief visit, but holds promise for when the weather warms up and the nesting bords return.
Only sightings were a brief glimpse of a Green Woodpecker and a few Long-Tailed Tits, plenty of LBJ tweeting in the bushes, but not daring the breeze.
On the return I came back via Tilford and took a few shots of the old medieval bridge.
Spent an enjoyable couple of hours watching the stream trains on the Watercress line, taking a few shots and generally enjoying the atmosphere. Takes me back to being a child visiting my grandparents in Liverpool, where the docks feeder line ran along the back of the houses opposite, but up on a raised embankment, so from a childs point of view it looked like the trains were on top of the houses, happy times.
